We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller. You can verify this and raise concerns at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
2. What Personal Data We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide our services. This includes: your full name, email address, phone number, property address and postcode, service details (type, frequency, add-ons, bedrooms, preferred date/time), any additional information you provide, payment card data (processed by Stripe — never stored by Glint), payment transaction records, access codes or keys you share with us, WhatsApp and email message history, and public Google review content.
We do not collect or process sensitive personal data (such as health, religion, or ethnicity) unless you voluntarily provide it in the additional information field.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and manage the Service — processing your booking, allocating the right operative, confirming appointments, collecting payment, and following up after the clean.
- To communicate with you — sending booking confirmations, deposit payment links, appointment reminders, completion receipts, and review requests via email (Resend) and WhatsApp.
- To fulfil our legal obligations — including financial record-keeping and tax compliance under HMRC requirements.
- To improve our service — using aggregated, non-identifiable feedback to review and improve our operations.
- For legitimate business interests — including fraud prevention, resolving disputes, and maintaining records of completed services.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Marketing Communications
4.1 We may send you service-related follow-up messages (such as recurring service offers or seasonal promotions) by WhatsApp or email if you are an existing client. These are sent on the basis of legitimate interests.
4.2 You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by replying “stop” on WhatsApp or by emailing hello@glintcleanuk.net with the subject line “Unsubscribe”. We will action opt-outs within 5 business days.
4.3 We do not share your contact details with any third party for marketing purposes, and we do not purchase or use marketing lists.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We share your personal data only with trusted third-party processors who support our operations: Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email delivery), Google (Business Profile and email), WhatsApp / Meta (client communication), and HMRC / legal authorities (legal compliance). All third-party processors are contractually required to handle your data securely. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
6. International Data Transfers
Some of our processors (Stripe, Resend, Google) are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including the use of the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the ICO.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
Booking records and correspondence: 6 years from the date of service. Payment transaction records (via Stripe): 7 years. Access codes and keys: deleted or returned immediately upon end of arrangement. WhatsApp message history: 2 years from last contact. Marketing opt-out records: indefinite (to honour opt-out). After the relevant retention period, personal data will be securely deleted or anonymised.
8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data. You can exercise any of these by contacting us at hello@glintcleanuk.net:
- Right of access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. We will respond within 30 days.
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

- Right to restrict processing — ask us to pause processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability — request a machine-readable copy of your data.
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests (including marketing).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
9. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including using Stripe for all payment processing, secure email and messaging accounts, physically securing property access codes, and limiting access to personal data to those who need it.
10. Cookies
Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies. Please refer to our Cookie Policy for full details.
